My relationship with Sudoku didn’t begin with passion. It began with boredom.
I was on a train ride with 23% battery left and no Wi-Fi. Social media was out. Streaming was out. All I had was a random puzzle app I had downloaded months before and forgotten about.
So I opened it.
There it was: a blank grid, a few scattered numbers, and three difficulty levels. I confidently chose “Easy.” I mean… how hard could filling in numbers from 1 to 9 really be?
Very hard, apparently.
At first, it felt simple. You just make sure numbers don’t repeat in rows, columns, or 3x3 boxes. Clean rules. Clear boundaries. Logical.
