Iverheal 12 mg is a medication containing ivermectin. Ivermectin is an antiparasitic medication used to treat infections caused by certain parasites. It is commonly used to treat conditions such as: Scabies: Scabies is a contagious skin condition caused by tiny mites called Sarcoptes scabiei. Ivermectin is used orally or topically to treat scabies by killing the mites and their eggs. Head Lice: Ivermectin can also be used off-label to treat head lice infestations when other treatments have failed or are not well tolerated. River Blindness (Onchocerciasis): Ivermectin is used to treat onchocerciasis, a parasitic disease caused by infection with the worm Onchocerca volvulus. This condition is transmitted by the bites of infected black flies. Ivermectin kills the larvae of the parasite, reducing the burden of infection. Other Parasitic Infections: Ivermectin may also be used to treat other parasitic infections, such as strongyloidiasis (caused by the roundworm Strongyloides stercoralis) and filariasis (caused by thread-like worms known as filariae).
