Business Description

Efficacy is a key issue in NHP models. NHP models have been shown to improve the efficiency of drug manufacture, delivery and administration, thereby increasing the therapeutic potentials of medicines. NHP emission tomography (EMG) and non-emission tomography (NIT) imaging are two imaging techniques frequently used to study the efficacy of drugs in clinical trials. Emission tomography (ET) is an NHP diagnostic technique that uses gamma rays emitted by stimulated emission units (SUNs) to image in confined spaces. Non-emission tomography (NIT) is a NHP technique that uses magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to obtain images of blood flow in the body.

Both emission tomography and non-emission tomography studies are crucial for evaluating the efficacy of drugs in clinical trials. Both are imaging modalities that can provide important information on the function of the human body and specifically the cardiovascular system. In addition, both NHP and EMR techniques have been applied in cancer therapy. NHP has recently received FDA approval for use in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and sleep apnea. EMR is currently being evaluated in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, migraine, Parkinson's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and temporomandibular joint disorder.
