Argo Glass & Windows - Window Repair & Glass Replacement

Business Description
Draft complaints make up a large share of window repair in Palatine, IL, and Argo diagnoses them in a fixed order, especially in the larger, older houses out toward Barrington and Northbrook. First the sash is closed and locked and the meeting rail checked for a gap. Then the weatherstrip is inspected along both stiles and the sill, then the caulk joint where the trim meets the wall, then the balance, since a weak one lets the sash drop away from its stops. Only after that is the wood itself pressed at the sill and the bottom rail. Most drafts end at the first three steps and cost little to put right. Where the wood has failed or the frame has racked, the estimate says so and prices that work separately, and replacement is offered only where the opening can no longer be sealed at all. Arlington Heights and Inverness are covered the same way.
