The artificial islands in Dubai

The artificial islands in Dubai

Turquoise blue sea, beautiful sandy beaches, swaying palm trees – thousands of travelers are in search of their ideal island for a vacation. The United Arab Emirates has solved this problem in their own way: they have created their own artificial islands in Dubai. These architectural structures have become some of the most ambitious and incredible projects of the last decades. Let’s talk about the most popular ones.

Palm Jumeirah

Palm Jumeirah is one of the three artificial islands of the Palm Islands project in Dubai. It is the smallest of the islands, but also the most original. Its design is made in the form of palm leaves with the size of 5*5 km. To protect Palm Jumeirah from storm surges, an additional barrier was built in the Persian Gulf – a breakwater in the form of a crescent. The island is connected to the mainland by a 300-meter bridge.

This artificial island is home to the city’s best resorts, restaurants and attractions. You should definitely visit The Pointe, a picturesque promenade where fountain shows are organized. And also the most visited part of the island is the Atlantis Visitor Center. There is a giant aquarium called Lost Chambers with 65 thousand inhabitants, the halls of which are decorated in the style of Atlantis. Luxury real estate in Dubai https://myestateinvest.com/uae/dubai/ , including villas, apartments and high-end hotels (Atlantis, The Palm) on the island is very popular. One of the key advantages of such real estate is a stunning view of the sea and the city waterfront, as well as access to the best service.

World Islands

Imagine being able to visit every continent in the world in one day without leaving Dubai. This is possible at World Islands, a group of artificial islands shaped like a map of the world. They are spread over an area of about 9 kilometers in the Persian Gulf. The project was announced in 2003 and developed by Nakheel Properties, a well-known real estate developer in Dubai. The islands were built from sand and stones from the seabed, which were then pulverized and assembled into the desired shapes of the future islands. Each of the islands represents a country or region. For example, World Islands has six islands showcasing the culture and architecture of Europe. Although the project is not yet fully completed, it is already possible to visit an island dedicated to Lebanon.

Bluewaters Island

Bluewaters is one of the most impressive man-made islands, located opposite the Dubai Marina district. The territory of the island is divided into five zones: residential, commercial, entertainment, hotel and beach. All conditions for comfortable recreation and life have been created here. Among the visitors of the island the most popular are Brass Monkey entertainment complex, Alici restaurant with Italian cuisine and a lot of stores. Bluewaters Island offers panoramic views of the Dubai mainland, which in itself is an excellent reason to visit this place.
