7 Rides and Experiences for Young Kids at Ferrari World™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

Ferrari World™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, is now known as a thrill-seeker’s playground. It’s home to Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster, and Flying Aces, which holds the world record for the highest non-inverted loop.

The theme park’s adrenaline-pumping rides include Mission Ferrari, an immersive mega-coaster featuring the world’s first sideways coaster drop. It also boasts Turbo Track, a back-to-back rollercoaster that shoots guests into the sky through Ferrari World™ Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s iconic roof and back in reverse.

Formula Rossa Junior

Formula Rossa, Ferrari World™ Abu Dhabi’s most popular adrenaline-pumping ride, requires guests to be at least 140 cm (1.4 m) tall. However, children at least 90 cm (.9 m) in height can enjoy the thrill of riding this roller coaster on its kid-friendly version: Formula Rossa Junior.

This roller coaster features a track inspired by Formula Rossa. Its top speed is 45 km/h, the perfect pace for kids looking for a fast, exciting ride.

Although younger kids are allowed on this ride, they must be accompanied by an adult.

Flying Wings

Younger guests don’t need to wait to meet the height requirements of Flying Aces to experience being an aviator on a unique ride on Ferrari World™ Yas Island. Flying Wing, a miniature version of the world-famous roller coaster, lets children at least 105 cm (1.05 m) tall enjoy a fun flight with an accompanying adult.

Guests can soar through the park aboard colorful seats while holding onto a bar that gives them that exciting and unique feeling of gliding while in the air.

Flying Wings also works well as a training ground for guests who want a bit of preparation before taking on the more exhilarating Flying Aces.

Turbo Tower

Turbo Track gives guests incredible aerial views of Ferrari World™ Yas Island while enjoying an adrenaline-pumping ride. Children 105 cm (1.05 m) tall and their adult companions can also see the park from above via Turbo Tower, Turbo Track’s mini version.

This ride takes guests up a 13.5-meter tower, followed by a heart-pumping zero-gravity fall and two bouncing turbo drops. Although this tower roller coaster is a tamer version of Turbo Track, it can still give kids and adults the thrill of a lifetime.

Junior Grand Prix

Kids who are 110 cm (1.1 m) tall and avid fans of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton can live out their dreams of being Scuderia Ferrari drivers in the Junior Grand Prix.

Young guests get to drive miniature versions of Ferrari Formula One racing cars and compete with other drivers on a race track. It’s a fun way for children to experience what it’s like to be behind the wheel of an F1 car.

Before kids jump into the car, they’ll watch a Junior Grand Prix educational film and get instructions from trainers to ensure they stay safe while having fun on the track.

Speedway Race

The Speedway Race is perfect for kids 90 cm (.9 m) tall who can’t get enough of racing around a race track. It’s the next ride young guests should make a beeline for after going on the Junior Grand Prix.

The Speedway Race features a whip-style ride where guests sit on Ferrari-inspired two-seater racing cars and go around a speedway.

Even though the ride is controlled and safe, guests can experience the speed and force F1 drivers feel when they take corners on a real race track. The flashing lights help make the ride more authentic and exciting.

Driving With the Champion

This cinematic motion-based joyride lets guests at least 107 cm (1.07 m) tall join a virtual F1 pro as they take a Ferrari race car for a spin on the Fiorano Circuit and the streets of Maranello.

Driving With the Champion allows guests to step into the shoes of a rookie Ferrari engineer in training. The state-of-the-art driving simulator lets kids and adults experience the twists, turns, and bumps of driving on the Fiorano track, Ferrari’s private racetrack.

The ride also takes guests around the historic city of Maranello, the home of Ferrari and Scuderia Ferrari.

This simulated ride is further elevated with the realistic sounds of the revving engine and the wind blowing inside the theater.

Speed of Magic

Speed of Magic is a unique, exciting 4D ride that immerses kids and adults in an incredible fantasy world.

On this ride, Nello, a famous racer, takes guests with a minimum height of 100 cm (1 m) on a fantastic journey through beautiful and mysterious oceans, cliffs, and ice caves. Since it’s a 4D ride, the simulator technology heightens the experience with changes in temperature, light, movement, and even moisture throughout the voyage.

Speed of Magic gives guests a wonderful experience that will be imprinted in their memory for a long time.
